about moodlog
the short version: we help you see your own patterns.
what this is
moodlog is a journaling app that uses nlp to detect emotions in your writing. you write a few sentences about your day, and a fine-tuned roberta model tags the emotions for you. over time, you start to see patterns you wouldn't catch on your own.
it's built on plutchik's wheel of emotions - eight primary emotions that can combine into more complex feelings. the idea is that if you track these consistently, you get a real picture of how you're doing. not a vibe check. actual data.
how it started
built by a bu graduate computer science student who wanted a better way to understand their own head. most mood trackers ask you to pick an emoji or rate your day 1-10. that never felt like enough.
moodlog started as a research project and turned into something people actually use. it's currently in a research preview - we're working with students, researchers, and early supporters to make it better.
how it works
the short version:
- · you write. short entries, no templates, no prompts required.
